Who is Lonesome George?
Considered one of the rarest creatures in the world George became a conservation icon. He was the sole remaining Pinta Island Tortoise living on Santa Cruz Island, part of the Galapagos National Park. He passed in 2012 and was thought to be over 100 years old.
